The Lakes Bible Institute
An Authorized Berean Study Group
The Lakes Bible Institute is a program at our church that provides group study and discussion of Berean courses from Global University.
If God is calling you to prepare for more effective ministry, The Lakes Bible Institute is here to help by providing you access to Bible and leadership courses facilitated by The Lakes Assembly pastors and trained facilitators in a classroom setting. These courses will also meet the educational requirements needed for Assemblies of God credentials.
Or, if you’re just desiring a deeper knowledge of God’s Word, The Lakes Bible Institute can help you achieve your goals through a systematic approach to learning God’s Word from cover-to-cover.

Course Information
All TLBI courses combine independent study, classroom instruction, and active involvement in ministry.
Course material
All course material is provided by Global University and is approved by the North Texas District Council. All courses completed with a passing grade (including the course manual, exam, and SLR) fulfill the NTDC academic credentialing requirements.
Independent Study
Each student is required to complete the course manual prior to testing. We recommend you spend 30 minutes each day studying the course material. This is just a recommendation. Each student may determine the most profitable study habits for completing the course.
Service Learning Requirement
Each student must complete the Service Learning Requirement (SLR) in the appendix of each course manual. Instructions for completing this assignment are located in the appendix of each course manual. Students must turn in their SLR along with their exam after testing.
Class
Each student is encouraged to attend every class session. Class sessions are vital to understanding the course material and how it applies to life and ministry. Class sessions consist of two parts. First, TLBI facilitators will review and answer any questions on the course material. Second, facilitators will spend time answering the following questions: How does this material impact/influence ministry, be it personally or communally?
Classes meet weekly. Students are to arrive at church by 10:00 am. Students must check-in and register for the next course (if applicable).

Course Facilitators
TLBI course facilitators consist of The Lakes Assembly pastors and leaders. It is our intention to provide quality facilitators who can effectively communicate course material and demonstrate how it integrates into ministry and Christian living.
Testing
The course exam is given at the end of each course. All exams are closed book. There is no time limit when taking an exam. We encourage all students to take their time in completing an exam. A #2 pencil is required to take the test. It is the responsibility of the student to provide their own pencils.
Missing an exam
We understand situation and circumstances arise that may prevent you from attending class and taking the exam. However, due to additional postage, administrative costs, processing, and communication requirements between Global University, the student, and TLBI, there will be a $10 fee for each make-up exam. Submit missed exam fees to The Lakes Assembly office. We strongly encourage everyone to participate in the class sessions. They are vital to gaining a holistic understanding of the studied topic. In addition, our time together provides priceless fellowship with other TLBI students.
