Our Vision

Encounter God - Embrace People - Experience Serving - Engage The Lost
We are committed to making fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ through a biblical and Spirit empowered process. Our vision is to encourage and equip you to encounter God, embrace people, experience serving, and engage the lost.
  1. We encourage you to have a fresh encounter with God at one of our worship services and at home by reading the Bible and praying every day. We need to regularly encounter God to keep us on track and connected to Him.
  2. We encourage you to embrace new people in a Connect Group where you can grow and learn in a safe environment with people that are taking the journey with you.
  3. We encourage you to experience serving in one of our ministries. There are many opportunities available with on the job training and equipping. We believe the best way to learn and grow in faith is when you serve others.
  4. We also encourage you to engage the spiritually lost. We consider this to be our "home run." Throughout the year we encourage you to pray for, care for, and invite your lost friends and family to encounter God. (If you don't have any lost friends, we encourage you to make some new friends.)

Our Values

The following values guide how we do ministry at The Lakes Assembly.
  1. We exalt God in all we do for all to see.
  2. We put people before programs.
  3. We grow by serving together.
  4. We will do anything short of sin to reach people for Christ.
  5. We believe God-sized vision is uncomfortable.
  6. We are responsible for strategically advancing the mission.

Who We Are

The Lakes is a contemporary, full gospel church where people from all walks of life can encounter God’s life changing power. We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere for the whole family with excellent ministries for every age. Just as Jesus had a heart to disciple and equip people for life and Christian service, we too are committed to developing Godly leaders to further his cause. We also purpose to be a positive influence in  the world around us by being actively involved in our local community. In addition, we generously support those around the world who have committed their lives to do the same in places we cannot reach (missions). The Lakes is a genuine church that your family can call Home!

Key Concepts Defined

Genuine: Not counterfeit; authentic; real. Free from pretense or hypocrisy. In a world were value is put on creating an image and simulating reality. We believe Jesus intends His church to be the “Real Deal”! Real Church, Real People, Real Life!
John 7:18 (NIV)
He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

Balanced: Being in harmonious or proper arrangement or proportion. Not to one extreme or the other. We intend to be a Church that passionately pursues God while maintaining a balanced biblical perspective.
Ecclesiastes 7:18 (NIV)
It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all ‹extremes›.

Community: A social group whose members reside in a specific locality. Missions begins at home. We are a church passionate about being a positive influence in our community.
Titus 2:7,8 (NIV)
In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

Missions: Sending or being sent for some duty or purpose.
We believe a healthy church is to be actively involved in God's global agenda in their world.
Matthew 28:19 (NIV)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Family: A group of people who share common values, interests, or goals and do life together. No one wants to do life alone and having a family of believers who will be there with your best interest at heart is a key value.
Acts 2:44 (NIV)
All the believers were together and had everything in common. (Also see 2 Thes 2:8)

Home: A place of residence or refuge. Home should be the place where you feel safe, warm and loved, a refuge from the daily struggles of life. So should your Church home be.
1 John 4:11 (NIV)
“Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
