Water Baptism
The Bible clearly teaches that water baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a believer to GO PUBLIC with their heart-felt commitment to Christ. People often have questions regarding baptism: Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized. Do I have to do it again? We’re here to answer any questions you might have about baptism.
In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved.” (Mark 16:15-16a). Water baptism is a public declaration of a personal transformation. It’s letting go of our old life and coming alive to new life in Christ. If you’re ready to make that public confession of faith, or if you want to learn more about what to expect, please complete the Water Baptism form. |

Holy Spirit Baptism
While the Bible clearly teaches water baptism as the first step of obedience following salvation, it also teaches about an inward, spiritual baptism distinct and separate from salvation. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is for all believers following salvation and empowers believers of every generation to be more effective witnesses and to live the Christian life.
We do not believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation, but we encourage all believers to expect and earnestly seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Who baptizes in the Holy Spirit? Our pastors will encourage you to seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit, but they cannot baptize you in the Holy Spirit. The Bible makes it clear that Jesus is the baptizer. In Mark 1:7-8, John the Baptist said, “After me comes the one more powerful than I, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” |
