First, we are continuing to pray for you and for our nation and world as we all deal with the current COVID-19 crisis. We ask that you continue to join us in prayer for each other and the world around us.
Second, we have been asked about when the church might be able to open the doors again for an in person worship service. After much discussion and guidance from healthcare experts, government officials, and the North Texas District of the Assemblies of God, we have decided to offer an in person worship experience starting this Sunday, May 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM. This will not be church as normal per se, but it will be an opportunity for you to attend an in person worship service if you so choose. We will offer a family style worship service on Sunday at 10:00 AM with safe practices in place. This will mean that we ask families to sit together on a row separate from other groups by at least two seats. Youth and children will sit with their parents and not with friends. We will not have a class for children or nursery at this time. Instead, we encourage to come and worship together as a family. Your children will certainly remember those times when they sat with dad and mom in the adult worship service and wondered at why mom and dad stood up for worship, wrote a check for the offering, wrote notes on a legal pad, or underlined a passage of scripture in church. Parents, please keep your children near you at all times while at the church. They will likely be tempted to run off to see their friends, but we ask that each household stick together in order to reduce the spread of germs from household to household. In order to reduce the spread of germs at this time, we ask that everyone refrain from hugging, handshaking, high-fiving, and instead greet each other with an "air high five." No, we don't like it either, but during this time, we can love our neighbors by abiding by some basic social distancing. That means we encourage people who aren't part of the same household (or car load) to try to keep a minimum of 6 feet from each other throughout the building. Regarding masks, you may choose to wear a mask, but we are not requiring everyone to wear a mask at this time. Regarding the building, the building will be disinfected before and after every service. Regarding coffee and donuts, the coffee bar will be closed during this time. We encourage you to instead support our local coffee and donut shops. Church will be a BYOC (Bring Your Own Coffee) event... Regarding the online live stream, we will continue to offer the live stream of our worship service. We encourage you to consider that as an option during this time. Regarding dismissal, rows will be dismissed one at a time in order to reduce traffic jams as people leave the building (while trying to somehow stay 6 feet from each other...) We ask that groups quickly leave the foyer and do not stand around in the foyer after service. Hopefully, we will get back to "normal" soon. Regarding offering, an offering box will be made available for you to drop off your offering as you exit the building following the service. Thank you for your continued support of our church and ministries.
